About

Leanne Wagner M.A. is a fully licensed Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Her services are covered under most extended health care plans and she is licensed to diagnose mental disorders. Leanne works with adults, children, adolescents, individuals, families, and couples.

Leanne began her training in the field of psychology and counselling with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Simon Fraser University followed by a Masters of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adlerian School of Professional Psychology. She carried out her internship at a private practice where she conducted one on one therapy with clients. This training garnered Leanne the experience of working with a wide variety of clients who faced many different issues.

One model Leanne utilizes in counselling is the Adlerian perspective. She engages in this model because it is optimistic and acknowledges a person’s strengths while providing practical tools to assist the individual in overcoming the challenges they face. Another benefit of this theory is that it applies well to individuals of all ages, couples, and groups. Leanne also recognizes the strengths of other theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) and the Gottman method for couples work. She implements various techniques from several theories depending on the client, the challenges they are facing, and their individual needs. Leanne’s approach has been seen by many as supportive, approachable, and highly therapeutic.
